ABOUT ME
Doron Segal was seven years old when he started taking piano lessons at the Karmiel conservatory in northern Israel.
At the conservatory, he spent nine years studying classical piano playing.
Then, at the age of sixteen, he was introduced to jazz music by his brother who gave him
recordings of jazz music played by Michel Petrucciani, Chick Corea, and Oscar Peterson.
He became fascinated by the atmosphere of jazz music and began playing in jazz groups.
In the years that followed, he played jazz music in various projects, competitions, and bands in Israel.
At the age of twenty-one, Doron started studying at the Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem, majoring in Jazz Piano, studying with Avi Adrian and Yuval Cohen. Towards his graduation, Doron was awarded a scholarship of excellence from The Israeli Union Of Performing Artists.
At the end of 2014, Doron moved to Berlin in order to form his own trio.
He became a part of the Berlin music scene, participating in different projects
and working with many local and international artists, playing in Berlin
as well as in other European cities and most recently in South East Asia.
Towards the end of 2017, Doron recorded his debut album with his trio,
which consists of his own compositions and arrangements,
as well as a cover of Sound Garden’s ‘Black Hole Sun’.
The album will be released by Village Live Records
on CD, Vinyl & Digital formats in February 2018.
Since 2018, Doron had recorded and worked with Various artists and projects such as : Move78, J.lamotta, Fink Jembaa Groove and many more.
I have been playing piano for the last 20 years, I had studied In the Jerusalem Academy of music and dance, in which I had completed my B.A in Jazz piano
I have experience at teaching at all levels, from teaching beginners to preparing students for music exams.
I believe in creating a specially fitted learning program, that will fit your needs and will help you progress as thoroughly and fast as possible.
I believe in making you truly understand music, and setting you up for being able to learn and explore more and more by yourself.
I am offering lessons in the following subjects :
- Piano (Classical, Jazz, Pop, R&B, etc.)
- Improvisation(all Instruments are welcomed.)
- Ear Training
- Music Production for Instrumentalists (Ableton)
- Music Theory and Harmony for Music Producers
My studio is located close to Warschauer Str. U-Bahn Station and includes a piano and a speaker system.
I also teach from my home studio located close to Weißensee-Antonplatz which includes 3 electric keyboards, Studio monitors, and a computer with a recording interface (Cubase, Ableton).
